Four NBSV athletes were in action over the past several days.
Chantelle Wilder returned home to Canada to take part in the Sports 4 Emilie Mondor Memorial 5K, started in memory of the Canadian Olympian. Mary Davies of New Zealand outran Amy Van Alstine for first place in 16:08, while Chantelle Wilder came home 5th in 17:28 on the out and back course.
Up in Tahoe City, after conquering Stanford and Morgan Hill in recent weeks, Sam and Maggie took on another duathlon challenge at the XTERRA Tahoe City Duathlon. Sam was second overall and first male, while Maggie finished next in order for third overall and second female. Although Sam crossed first, Maggie enjoyed the spoils of the fastest second run split of anyone in the field. We'll leave it to them to determine true family bragging rights...
Kris Paaso also ran well at her first Los Gatos All-Comer's affair of the summer season. She very nearly even split an 800 in 2:14, for first female in the field after a couple years without an 800 on the schedule.
